THE NEW RULES (Updated August 9, 2025):
Each month, (usually) on the third Friday, several improv teams will enter the arena, but only ONE TEAM will emerge the victor at the end! The winning team comes back to compete in the next month’s competition. Teams that win will also go on to compete in the Contest of Champions in December
The competition is open to Reflex Improv students of all skill levels.
- Form an Improv team with up to 8 other players. The same player cannot play on multiple teams on the same night (with the exception of the Contest of Champions in December).
- Give your team a name, then enter using the form below.
- Invite people to help vote you through to the next rounds.
- If you don’t have others to play, let us know on the form and we’ll hook you up with an ad hoc team!
- The show begins at 7pm with each of the teams getting 15 minutes to perform any format of their choosing. Play for the entire 15 minutes until blackout or the timer ends.
- Per VFW house rules, all performance content MUST be PG-13 in nature. Light swearing is fine, but no graphic language or content is allowed. Breaking this rule will result in automatic elimination.
- We’ll have time for up to six teams to compete. At the end of the last performance, we’ll open up the ranked choice voting. Using the QR code or web address, navigate to the voting page and rank the teams in the order of preference.
- After voting closes, a winner for the evening will be announced.
- The winning team is guaranteed a spot in the following month’s competition.
- All other teams may also continue to compete, but we will slot teams on a first-come-first served basis, so it’s not guaranteed. We’ll put you in the next available spot.
- In December, all of the winning teams throughout the year will compete against each other to determine the Battle Royale Champion for 2025. If a player is on multiple Champion teams, they may be a part of all teams that night.
- Excellent sportsmanship is a requirement. Please be a gracious loser AND a gracious winner!
